Dr. James M. Franklin is the retired Chief Scientist of the Geological Survey of Canada and a consulting geologist with over 40 years experience in the study of mineral deposits and regional metallogeny. He has directed or consulted on major research and exploration programs for gold, Ni-Cu-PGE, uranium and VMS deposits in the Churchill and Superior provinces in Canada, and also in the US, Mexico, South America and Asia. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, and a board member of the Canadian Mining Innovation Council. Dr. Franklin is a registered professional geologist in the Province of Ontario, and an Adjunct Professor at Queen's, Ottawa and Laurentian Universities. He is a Past President of both the Geological Association of Canada and the Society of Economic Geologists.
