Available for Option
100% Cornerstone Properties:
New Ross - Lithium + REE
New Ross
Primary Target
Lithium and Rare Metals
Location
The New Ross property is located in western Nova Scotia, approximately 75 km west of Halifax and 40 km north-northwest of Lunenburg.
Property Information
The New Ross property comprises 673 map-staked claims covering some 107.7 km2. The project area is underlain by Late Devonian granite intrusions of the New Ross Pluton and related smaller bodies of granite which are prospective for hosting lithium (Li) and rare metal deposits of niobium (Nb), tantalum (Ta) and beryllium (Be). The property covers several pegmatite, greisen and vein type polymetallic prospects along a 25 km long trend of favourable, altered and mineralized granites. Previous mineral exploration has focused on evaluating the associated tin (Sn), tungsten (W) and molybdenum (Mo) mineralization and did not examine the lithium or rare metals potential.
A digital compilation of historical exploration and government geoscientific data is planned, and a follow-up exploration program consisting of airborne magnetics and radiometrics, till and soil geochemical surveys, and prospecting and geological mapping is proposed.
Cornerstone owns a 100% interest in the New Ross property with no underlying royalties or encumbrances, and is currently seeking a joint venture partner to advance the project.
